If, when a child is born, the child’s natural parents are not married, but then subsequently do get married, the parents are required by law to do a re-registration of the child's birth. Also, if the natural father’s details were missing from the original registration, he can apply by re-registering to have his details put onto a birth entry, with the consent of the natural mother. Re-registration forms can be collected from any Register Office but the re-registration should take place at the registration district in which the birth took place.
