The Woodland Walk
Walton Lea Crematorium is set within seven hectares of beautifully landscaped grounds including, informal and ornamental gardens and wild meadows. Bordered by magnificent mature woodland it provides a tranquil setting for peaceful remembrance.
A Return To Nature
Part of the existing woodland has been dedicated as a ‘Woodland Walk’ offering a natural alternative to traditional methods for the laying to rest of loved ones. Instead of the cremated remains being placed into a casket and interred in a formal area, the Woodland Walk gives the opportunity for remains to be strewn beneath the tree canopy.
Following a cremation arrangements can be made so that, either we can have the remains respectively strewn for you within the woodland or, by appointment, family and friends may wish to witness or undertake the strewing themselves. No record will be kept of the exact location. You may also wish to make arrangements for a minister or other ceremony to be included.
On a practical note, the Woodland Walk is a natural site. Suitable footwear should be worn by those who attend an interment, or by those enjoying the site for peaceful remembrance.
