The Civil Contingencies Act was introduced in 2004. The main objective of the Act is to establish a consistent level of civil protection across the UK.
The Act places a number of duties on the local authority to ensure we are adequately prepared to respond to emergency situations working in close partnership with all responding agencies to ensure an effective co-ordinated approach. In Warrington this is achieved through the Local Resilience Forum and a number of multi-agency working groups.
