Partnership Work and the Local Resilience Forum

All key responders in Cheshire, Halton and Warrington are part of the Local Resilience Forum. This local co-operation and information sharing is vital to ensure we deliver our civil protection duties. The forum makes an assessment of local risks and determines local priorities. This work includes preparing for and responding to all types of emergency situations including natural disasters, terrorism and industrial accidents.
Local resilience forums are based on police force areas, not borough boundaries. Warrington Borough Council is a member of the Cheshire, Halton & Warrington Local Resilience Forum, which consists of representatives from each of the responding agencies.

The work of the groups includes:
- Sharing information with relevant partners to ensure each agency’s plans are effective and workable
- Preparing and testing emergency plans based on the risks identified in the Community Risk Register to ensure we are as resilient as possible
- Carrying out joint staff training events to ensure a consistent approach and to effectively manage local government resources and costs
- Developing consistent mechanisms to warn and inform the public about emergency situations
