What standards and targets do we work to?

All customers are given a personalised user guide that explains in detail what they can expect from the cleaning service, what cleaning operations will take place and that standards that will be achieved.

The Service works to The British Institute of Cleaning Science Technical Standards. These define precise, measurable and challenging operational standards for each task carried out in different types of buildings. These standards can be viewed at www.bics.org.uk

Statutory standards relating to the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) are adhered to. These lay down clear and sensible guidelines relating to the storage and use of chemical products which may be used in the cleaning processes. A copy of the guidelines is available in each establishment that we clean.

The service standards and targets are summarised in the Building Cleaning Service Charter PDF Logo and the Building Cleaning Customer Charter PDF Logo

What service changes and developments are proposed?

We are always searching for new products and equipment, which would improve the service we provide to our customers. Trials are currently being run on new chemicals and a ‘silent’ vacuum cleaner.

A new Quality Assurance assessment system to ensure high cleaning standards are achieved with a point scoring mechanism has been introduced recently after consultation with our Focus Group. Early indications are that this development has reduced complaints and improved cleaning standards in those buildings chosen for the trial.
