Rent a Stall
So, you want to look at the possibilities of becoming a market trader. Then you will probably fall into one of three categories (a) currently unemployed, (b) looking for a side-line to earn extra cash or (c) a shop owner looking for another outlet to channel your goods, especially perishables.
Assuming that you are of category (a) or (b), you may not have decided what to sell and therefore it is worthwhile going round local markets to see what other traders are selling.
To obtain a stall on Warrington Market contact Stephen Pickering, the Market Manager, who will be happy to send you details on what stalls are available to rent and how to apply.
Before deciding on what to sell, find out how many other stalls in the market are selling similar items. Consider whether your proposed selling lines compliment or conflict with other traders.
Being a market trader means that your general overheads can be fairly low i.e. no rates, heating and wage bills to pay. So remember that somebody, somewhere, is selling what everybody needs daily, weekly, or monthly. Why shouldn’t it be you? Get the drive needed, whether you be male or female, young or middle aged. Be your own boss and get self-satisfaction.
