Community Safety Strategy 2005-2008

The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 placed a statutory duty on the Borough Council and the Police to work with the local community, local agencies and businesses to tackle the problems of community safety, crime and disorder.

As a result the Warrington Community Safety Partnership was formed to co-ordinate the efforts of all the partners in addressing local issues in order to make Warrington a safer place for those who live in, work in or visit the Borough.

The strategy is based upon the results of an audit of crime and disorder problems in Warrington, an analysis of crime statistics and consultation with the people who deal with offenders, victims and the effects of crime and disorder.
