Engaging Warrington
The Council has recently developed, and adopted an engagement strategy following conclusions from a variety of engagement activities with the Voluntary and Community sector, representative organisations, Parish and Town Council representatives and the Stronger Together Neighbourhood Management Board
The strategy defines engagement as two-way involvement and dialogue between individuals and organisations to identify issues, agree action and solutions. It aims to support our communities to be stronger, more active in terms of working together to improve their quality of life and more inclusive.
Although instigated within the Council, the engagement strategy has been developed so that its aims, objectives and guiding principles are relevant to the wider engagement activity of the Warrington Partnership (our Local Strategic Partnership). The intention is to have a strategy that is acceptable to and agreed by the Warrington Partnership. In this way we will ensure that engagement is better coordinated across our various organisations, is more inclusive, makes sense to our residents and communities and is sensitive to their needs.
The engagement strategy is currently out for consultation with Warrington Partnership and the strategy will be supplemented by the Partnership to reflect the many achievements of partners in community engagement and to ensure the action plan includes actions for the Partnership, as well as the Council.
Once amendments have been made following partnership consultation, an updates version will be provided.
