Waste Management

Welcome to Warrington Borough Council’s waste and recycling web pages
We're here to help you recycle and reduce the amount of waste you create.
Why should I recycle?
On average a UK household produces over one tonne of rubbish a year.
Every eight months the UK produces enough waste to fill Lake Windermere.
You can help to reduce the amount of waste you produce and recycle more, so that less waste goes to landfill.
Warrington residents are currently recycling and composting over 30% of their household waste, but the remaining is still going to landfill. We still need to work together to continue to increase recycling and reduce the amount of waste we produce.
We have now introduced our three bin refuse and recycling scheme

Bags for life - Now back in stock...
Every year the UK uses approximately 10 billion plastic bags - that's the equivalent of 167 per person. Every plastic bag we throw away stays buried in the ground for up to 500 years before it finally breaks down.
Reusable cotton bags are now available to residents of Warrington. For your free cotton bag please call 01925 442604 or email jpetty@warrington.gov.uk.
