Warrington Cycle Forum

The Warrington Cycle Forum was set up in December 2006. Its remit is to review and contribute to the development of cycling policies and strategies, and raise the awareness of the opportunities for cycling in Warrington. It provides a useful connection between the council, individuals and organisations interested in cycling. The forum is also an important link for developing initiatives to effectively promote cycling in Warrington, and in the continued development of cycling initiatives and policies in Warrington.

The Cycling Forum allows cyclists to meet regularly with council officers, councillors and other interested parties and provides the ideal platform to exchange views and ideas in a fairly informal way.

All kinds of cyclists

Different types of cyclist from the confident commuter cyclist happy to ride in traffic to those who prefer more segregation; local short trippers, shoppers and leisure cyclists exchange views on what can be done to promote cycling, to make it safer and identifying problems for the cyclist. The group is also consulted on new cycling facilities and new policies.

The group is particularly keen to embrace the new and novice cyclist who would like to discuss the barriers experienced, have a greater understanding of new cycle projects and be able to gain valuable knowledge from the more experienced cyclist.

New! guide to cycling in Warrington

Welcome to the the new cycle map of Warrington. The paper copy is portable and folded to A5 size, but you can see the two sides of the leaflet in full folded-out mode here. Consultation on the map took place earlier in 2007 to ensure as much local knowledge as possible was included in the final version. View the full map PDF Logo [2MB] and the inside pages of the guide with general cycling information, district maps & a warrington overview PDF Logo[2MB]. Paper copies are available from the contact centre or we'll post you a copy if you email us your details.
