Transforming Learning in Warrington

A big thank you to all schools and pupils who have sent us comments and ideas about how children and young people could learn in the future...
We have had a fantastic response. Pupils have emailed us, taken part in classroom discussions and around 1200 pupils completed the online questionnaire to tell us how children and young people could learn in the future. The comments and ideas we have received will help us to create a vision for transforming learning here in Warrington. We will now be speaking to other people such as parents, teachers and members of the community to find out what they think.
The results are in! What did pupils tell us?

How did we consult with pupils in Warrington?
We consulted with a group of young people on the design and content for leaflets on this topic, we then sent out copies to all schools and encouraged discussion and feedback. We also had an online questionnaire for secondary pupils (based on the questions in the secondary school pupil leaflet) and all pupils could respond directly to us by email if they wished.

More information about why we are holding this transforming learning in Warrington consultation…
Funding through the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme for secondary schools and the government's Primary Capital Programme (PCP) is to become available to the council. This will be used to rebuild and/or refurbish school buildings. It would be a mistake to consider this investment to be just about new buildings! We do not really know what the future holds, what technology will be available and what sort of buildings we need. This consultation is just one of a number of opportunities that schools and communities will have to engage in with the debate in order to develop a shared vision for Transforming Learning in Warrington.
