Contaminated Land - Home

Contaminated Land - HistoryHistorically, Warrington has been characterised by a wide diversity of industrial activities.  The industrial heritage of the town includes cotton mills, metal works, chemical works, breweries, tanneries, mineral works, coal processing, sand/clay extraction and power generation.  As a result of these past industrial processes substances such as oils, metals and organic compounds can remain in the ground and ultimately groundwater.
