Supporting People is a government programme under the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). 

The Supporting People programme offers vulnerable people the opportunity to improve their quality of life through greater independence. It promotes housing related services which are cost effective and reliable, and which complement existing care services and deliver key elements of local and national strategies. Supporting People is a working partnership between Warrington Borough Council, NHS Warrington and Cheshire Probation Service.

The future direction of provision will be driven by the Supporting People commissioning body – made up of the Strategic Director of WBC Community Services Directorate, Director of Health Improvement at NHS Warrington and Assistant Chief Officer at Cheshire Probation Service.
