Volunteering Opportunities with Halton and Warrington Youth Offending Team
Halton and Warrington Youth Offending Team are looking for volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to be involved in work with young people in the local area.
Across Halton and Warrington, we are looking to recruit volunteers who can play a number of roles within the Youth Justice System. These include acting as an Appropriate Adult at the Police Station with a young person where their parent/carer either will not or cannot attend, as a Mentor to work directly with young offenders providing additional support (for example help with finding a job or going back to education or training), or finally as a Youth Offender Panel Member where you will have the opportunity to be involved in creating a programme of activities with a young offender to ensure they repair the damage caused by their offending and address the aspects of their lives that cause them to offend.
To work as a volunteer for Halton and Warrington Youth Offending Team, you should be committed and reliable and have:
- Patience, good judgement and objectivity
- Good listening and communication skills
- The ability to relate to young people
In return you can expect:
- A practical way to make a difference
- A chance to make your community a safer and better place
- Free training
