Take the No. 19 bus from the bus stop 30m past the park entrance (on the same side of the road) to The Greyhound pub on the East Lancs. Buses run every 30 minutes week days and every hour on Sundays, for bus information contact Warrington Transport on 01925 444250. (1) From the bus stop past The Greyhound continue along Warrington Road turning left at Green Fold Clay, then turn left again at a mini roundabout following signs for North West Water Environmental Education Centre and Hope Carr Nature Reserve. (2) At the Reserve entrance keep to the tarmac drive following it past the education centre and straight on through a kissing gate by a stone path. Keep to the path through the Reserve passing a second kissing gate and later the hexagonal bird hide on the left and eventually to a blue bridge. (3) Once over the bridge turn left following a path along the top of the brook cutting until a small stream from the right joins the main brook. Turn right after the stream following its bank for 30m before forking left aiming straight for a green/blue metal footbridge approx. 130m away, then to a metal gate and the East Lancs beyond. (4) Cross the road directly and follow footpath arrow down Withings farm track. At the white gate posts turn left over a style and by a hedge for 30m then fork right to join a grassy farm track through the fields. After 150m or so the track doglegs round the edge of the field left then right continue along the field edge to a cross path and footpath finger post. (5) Turn right, passing a pond then left at a footpath arrow crossing a green/blue bridge and by 2 more ponds along the field edge to a ‘T’ junction and footpath finger post. (6) Turn left following the path by a hedge then under the railway tunnel, continue along the track ignoring a path on the left to turn right by footpath sign and a brook. (7) Follow the path with the brook on your left and eventually past a wooden bridge then around the field edge to a track turn left following the track eventually by the farm to the road. (8) Cross over and turn left following the pavement to join Twiss Green Lane past the Redrow Homes. (9) Turn right at Common Lane, cross, then turn left down Broseley Avenue. (10) At the corner of Broseley Avenue go over a stile following the footpath by the side of the golf course until the path leads through the woodland belt. Follow the path right at the corner of the golf course then left across a field to join the park. (11) Turn left to return to the car park and Ranger Cabin.
