Woods and Water Circuit - 7 miles

With your back to the Ranger Cabin (1) Turn right following the park, pass under the Farm Bridge and after 250m turn right up the steps (2). Following the footpath across the field and round the edge of the Golf Course then by a green wire fence to Brosley Ave. Turn left following the road until Common Lane, turn right then after 100m turn left into Twiss Green Lane.

At the corner of Twiss Green Lane, follow the footpath sign through the Farm Yard (3) and along a track. Turn right by a barn at (4). Follow the path by the stream and cross at the New Bridge - Walk straight across the field by the path and over two tracks heading for Hitchfield Wood. At the style at (5) turn left and follow the concessionary footpath white arrows by the edge of the field, then by the stream. Follow the stream for a mile until you can cross by a new bridge at (6). Follow the path to a ‘T’ junction at which you turn right to follow the field edge and by the side of a house till reaching Warrington Road. Turn left and after 30m cross a bridge (7). Follow a grassy track by the side of house No 307. Once over the River, walk straight across the field heading for a tall Beech Tree (8). Turn right following the path over another bridge to a lane, and turn right. Following the lane over the river to a ‘T’ junction by Wards End Farm, turn right then immediately left past a row of white houses along a tarmac lane then grass track. Follow the footpath sign through the farm (9) heading for Crow Wood. Turn right and follow the wood edge to Holcroft Lane. Turn left then after 80m turn right following a straight path across fields to Ratcliffe House Farm (10).

Join the farm track and follow until New Hall Lane, turn left here and after 100m follow the track over a bridge, at the top of which turn right down steps. Follow the line of the railway back to the park and Ranger Cabin.
