North West Libraries

LEARN partnership
From March 2006, residents in Warrington, Cheshire, Halton and Wirral will be able to use many of the public, college and University libraries in this geographical area. This is part of a national initiative called INSPIRE, and you can read more about the aims and participation by clicking on this link www.inspire.gov.uk External Link

In Warrington, Cheshire, Halton and Wirral, the Inspire project has joined together to become Libraries for Education Access Regional Network (LEARN)

It's simple to use, and the benefits are :

  • your own Warrington library card is your passport to using these libraries - you need to take it with you
  • you may use the books held at the library you visit and take advantage of the extended opening hours - ideal if you want to study. However, you will not be able to borrow the books on your ticket.
  • it's advisable to ring the library you are planning to visit in advance to ensure there are no building works or examinations that might reduce availability

Look out for leaflets giving details of the various Colleges, Universities and Public Libraries that are participating - these will be available in local libraries from March 2006
