Rods to the ready

 

Junior novice anglers - time is running out to sign up for the fishing competition of the year.

Safer Warrington Partnership is hosting a junior novice angling tournament at Sankey Valley Park. It is open to 10 – 17 year olds, 10s and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

There will be three heats in the competition; the first one is on 28 July, the second is on 1 August with the final taking place on 8 August.

Participants need to bring their confirmation letter along to the heat that they are fishing in. Arrival for entrants is 9.00am with the competition taking place from 10.00am-3.00pm, the weigh in will start at 3.00pm.

Entry forms need to be completed and returned by 21 July.

Important information:

  • If you have your own fishing tackle please bring it with you. Only barbless hooks must be used.

  • Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. 60 places are available at each heat with the winners going through to the final. Please bring your confirmation letter on the day.

  • Parents are welcome to attend. Those aged 10 and under must be accompanied at all times.

  • Please dress for the weather conditions of the day and bring sun screen.

  • Please bring your own refreshments.
