Get set for a steamy summer

ALL ABOARD!

Is the call from The Railway Touring Company as it drafts into service historic locomotives to take to the rails in August.

These magnificent pacific type steam locomotives are sure to delight day trippers and train spotters as they come steaming into Warrington Bank Quay.

Restored to top operating condition is the 1930s-built 6201 Princess Elizabeth, the 60009 Union of South Africa and the 71000 Duke of Gloucester, all treasures of locomotive history.

Every Sunday in August and on August Bank Holiday Monday these ‘giants of steam’ will be heading for Wales.  Passengers joining The North Wales Coast Express at Warrington Bank Quay will have the choice of destinations including Llandudno, Conwy, Bangor and Holyhead.

The Yorkshire coast service, The Scarborough Flyer, will depart from Warrington and Manchester Victoria before heading across The Pennines to York where passengers can leave the train for an afternoon in the ancient walled city.  From York the Flyer will steam along the Vale of York, past Kirkham Abbey and on into Scarborough for the afternoon.

Prices start from £30 and tickets are also available from Warrington Tourist Information Centre in the Bus Interchange or call 01925 428585.
