The streets are alive
The streets of Warrington will come alive this August Bank Holiday with two days of fantastic street theatre with some of the north’s leading street entertainers.
Warrington Streets Alive 08 is sponsored by the Warrington Town Centre Partnership and will feature performances outside Warrington Market, Market Gate and Bridge Street on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 August.
There will be a mix of static and walkabout shows, between 12 - 2pm each day at the market and 12 - 3.30pm in Market Gate and Bridge Street.
The static shows include ‘In a spin’; a unique one man street show featuring a musical washing machine and the ironing board of death, ‘Bar Ha Ha’; a heady cocktail of multiplying bottles, flying glasses and country music.
The walkabout shows will see ‘The Crooning Captain’ join the captain at his mobile barrel bar for live songs and visual tomfoolery; ‘Los’tronaut’ will be asking for directions as this intrepid spaceman taxis along the streets on his electrically propelled space shuttle in search of mission control.
Check out the itinerary for full listings of events here.
Come and enjoy the party atmosphere as the town centre turns in to an open air theatre for the bank holiday.
