Here comes Frankenstein's Pet...
WIN a set of signed Curtis Jobling books for your primary school and a visit from the man himself.
The council in the National Year of Reading are offering pupils the chance to win a visit to your school from Curtis Jobling, local children’s author / illustrator and animation creator and a set of his signed books.
We are asking you to design your very own Frankenstein’s Pet and tell us what makes your pet unique and special.
The books in the set to be won are Frankenstein’s Cat, My Daddy and Cheeky Monkey.
Frankenstein’s Cat has been made into a cartoon series and features on BBC1 every weekday afternoon at 3.55pm. You can use this for inspiration or go it alone.
The deadline for your entries is Thursday 19 June; Curtis will choose the winning entry on Saturday 21 June at Warrington library, where he will be attending a book signing and storytelling of Frankenstein’s Cat. Details of this event are to follow.
Curtis will then visit the winning school to present the pupil with the signed books, give an assembly talk on his work and read Frankenstein’s Cat to you.
The rules are simple:
You can use any medium of your choice – so get drawing, painting, sculpting or make your own computer animation of your pet. There will be individual prizes given for outstanding work.
This is your chance to use your imagination and win an unique prize for your primary school. So go create!
This competition is open to all primary school age children in Warrington.
The school of the winning pupil will be contacted the week beginning 23 June 2008 to arrange the visit and publicity.
Please include your name, age and school that you attend on the front of your entry.
Please send your entries to: Communications, Chief Executive's Unit, Top Floor, Town Hall, Sankey Street, Warrington, WA1 1UH or drop your entries off at our reception at the Town Hall.
