Full of life
THERE was some salsa dancing on show that would give any professional a run for their money.
Tai chi, creative writing and drumming were just some of the other activities that took place at a Full of Life festival at the Pyramid on Wednesday 1 October.
The event, planned as part of national Full of Life Day aimed at over 50s, was organised by Widening Active Participation for Older People (WAPOP), which is coordinated by the council’s Arts & Sports Engagement Team.
They organise events such as the festival to celebrate later life, the huge contributions older people make to our communities and the wide range of activities on offer.
The Pyramid wasn’t the only place brimming with energy. The Mayor, Cllr Graham Welborn, invited members of the Older People’s Engagement Group, to join him for an afternoon of tea and folk singing at the town hall.
And don’t forget Grandparents’ Day has moved to Sunday 5 October to bring it closer to the celebrations for the second UK Older People’s Day on 1 October.
