Market’s classic transport show returns to town
ON Saturday 27 June the town centre will host a fabulous classic transport show.
Building on the success of last year’s classic car show, organisers including Warrington market, Golden Square, the Cockhedge Centre and smaller, independent retailers in the town have sought to make this the biggest and best transport show so far.
This year sees a spectacular line up of special guests, including an appearance by a 1955 fire engine affectionately known as ‘Ned,’ because of his reg Number: NED 146!
The engine faithfully served the Warrington area from 1955 until its retirement in 1977 when it was handed to the Warrington Bus Corporation for preservation. For the past seven years Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have looked after ‘Ned.’
Other attractions will include a formula one car, Del Boys three wheeler and vintage buses.
As well as cars owned by Batman, Noddy and the Flintstones plus the worlds favourite Beetle, Herbie!
Classic Car clubs and many individual exhibitors will also be showing off their own private collections.
Stephen Pickering, Warrington market manager said: “Last years classic car show was such a great success that we thought we allow all types of classic vehicles to take part. I am excited about retailers in the town centre getting on board this year with their own displays to make this a really successful event.”
