Arpley and Bridgefoot Area Action Plan

The process of producing an Area Action Plan (AAP) is set out in the Council’s Local Development Scheme (LDS – see above). It is appropriate to prepare an AAP for areas of significant development opportunity in order to prioritise development objectives and co-ordinate requirements for new infrastructure.

The AAP being produced covers the areas known as Arpley Meadows, Wilderspool, Bridgefoot and Wilson Patten Street.

The first stage of the process is to establish options for developing the area supported by a robust evidence base. To help to develop these options an initial consultation is being undertaken for three reasons:

1)     To publicise the fact that work on producing a plan has started;

2)     To help identify local issues within the AAP; and

3)     To involve key stakeholders in the plan process by seeking their views.

The pre-production consultation document (see below) goes into more detail about the process and issues in the area. Supporting plans and a glossary can also be found below.

Responses to the initial consultation have been compiled and can be viewed here PDF Logo  Work is continuing on the Sustainability Appraisal scoping report which will be the subject of consultation in the near future. Whilst the scoping report is being agreed, work will commence on devising options for development in the Arpley and Bridgefoot Area.
