How do I search for text on a web page?

UDP_HelpIt is often a case that a page is text-heavy and has many thousands of words. There is a method for you to find a specific word within that page.

Once the page is open, hold down the CTRL button on the keyboard (located to the left of the space-bar) and press the letter F. This opens up the window to the right.
Within the "find what" box, enter the word or phrase that you are looking for. Click on "find next" once this has been done.

Nothing is happening on the screen.

Check in the top right hand corner of your browser window and see if the browser logo is moving. If so, check the bottom left-hand corner of the browser window, in the status bar. If there is activity, there should be messages in the status bar, to indicate that files are loading. If not, hit Stop and then reload. If this does not improve the situation, there may be a problem with the page you are trying to access.

The problem may also be due to a slow connection. If the browser seems to have frozen, it may be due to a memory problem instead. Try closing all other applications. Mac users can also increase the size of memory allocated to their browser application. If the performance of your computer is generally sluggish, you could try rebooting your computer, which will clear your system memory.
