Bus ShelterBus Shelters

New bus shelters and new boarding points are being introduced throughout Warrington to assist people getting on and off buses.  The new shelters provide seating, information and offer higher standards of lighting to improve security.  A new contract was signed with Adshel to provide 260 new bus shelters throughout Warrington.  These shelters are cleaned every 10 days, offensive graffiti removed within 1 working day.  Additional bus shelters will be provided either from an extension of existing contract or through bus Quality Partnerships developed with local bus companies.

BusDisability Awareness with Low Floor Buses

These new Low Floor Buses provide a service for members of the public with disabilities, parents with prams and for other people with mobility problems.  The front of the bus can be lowered down to the level of the kerb.  To make things even easier a special illuminous pass holder can be obtained from the Passenger Transport Unit for people who require the floor to be lowered.  Simply show the driver this holder as the bus comes into the stop and the floor should be lowered.   The low floor buses run on the following: 11/11A, 12/12A, 7,16/16A, 20/21 and on most services at night.  Warrington Borough Transport plan to introduce more low floor buses in the near future.
