One way systems

 

We introduce one way systems on roads where two vehicles can't pass safely. This could be because the road is too narrow or because of parked vehicles. Sometimes we use one way systems to stop vehicles from using the road as a shortcut.

However, one way roads can encourage drivers to speed up because they are confident there will be no traffic coming towards them. Therefore, they are not always the best solution.
