Parent Partnership Service

PPS logo

Warrington and Halton Joint Parent Partnership Service (PPS) offers impartial guidance and support to parents or carers of children with special educational needs. We work closely with parents, the local authority, schools and other professionals. Our role is to make sure parents and carers know about the options available to them, to help them play a more active role in their child’s education. Sometimes people are referred to us, but we will only get involved if parents or carers want our help. We respect confidentiality at all times.

We provide information and guidance about:

  • special educational needs policy and procedures
  • support in early years
  • support in school
  • statutory assessment and statements
  • school reviews and meetings
  • resolving disagreements
  • school entry, and changing from primary to secondary schools
  • transition from school to the adult world

We can:

  • Discuss your concerns over the phone
  • Visit you in your home
  • Send you information
  • Write letters to professionals
  • Help write letters and reports for review meetings
  • Come with you to meetings
  • Invite you to group meetings, information days and conferences
