St Katherine's Children's Centre - A Guide for Young People

If you are unable to remain living at home, a social worker will talk to you about where else you might live. It might be that you are not able to live in a family at that particular time or you might need the specific services that only a residential centre can offer.

Keyworkers
If you come to stay with us at St Katherine’s you will have two people (keyworkers) who will spend time with you to get to know you and help to make sure that you are looked after properly.

You will be able to tell them about what you want to happen and how you want it to happen. If you need to see a doctor, dentist or optician they will arrange this for you and if you want to attend any activities they will also try to arrange this.

The workers will also write reports with you, or for you, and will attend meetings with you so that you are properly involved in the plans that are being made for you.

It's normal to feel unsure...
When children and young people come to stay at St Katherine’s they are usually a bit unsure and sometimes have difficulty knowing what questions to ask.  If you come to stay with us we will give you a booklet with all the things we think you will want to know. If there are things that you want to know that are not in the booklet then we will be more than happy to discuss this with you.
