Staying at the Respite Centre
Medication
Ross Close staff are well trained to administer any medication that children might need. Parents will have to complete several forms before their child can stay with us.
Religious and Cultural Needs
If a child usually visits a place of worship and their parents wish them to continue to attend during their stay at Ross Close, we will try our best to facilitate this.
Clothes and toiletries
We cannot provide toiletries or personal care aids for children so they must bring these items with them.
We also cannot launder clothing unless they are soiled so parents must make sure their child has enough clothes for their stay.
Collection and drop-off times
On the first day of a child’s stay, they can be dropped off anytime after 10:30am. At weekends and during the school holidays, children must be collected by 10am on the last morning of their stay.
Review Meetings
Each child at Ross Close has their care plan reviewed regularly to see how successful it is and if any changes need to be made.
A child’s first review meeting takes place within 28 days of their first overnight stay at Ross Close and the second meeting is three months later. After that, reviews are every six months.
