Pupil Assessment and Support Team

The Pupil Assessment and Support Team helps schools to support children and young people who have additional needs to access education so that they can achieve to the best of their ability.

The team is usually called the PAST team and they are based at New Town House. They work very closely with schools and education settings. Each school has a PAST Caseworker that links with them. This Caseworker can also offer support to parents and carers to help them understand the SEN process.

They are the team that helps to support children with disabilities and those with complex needs. They carry out statutory assessments and monitor how schools deliver the provision specified in statements of Special Educational Needs. The PAST team also co-ordinates, implements, monitors and reviews the educational support related to children who are at risk of exclusion from school because of medical needs or medical issues and children who are looked after by the local authority (Looked After Children).

If you would like advice from the PAST team the number to ring is 01925 442935.
