Support for Childcare Practitioners and Managers
The Childcare Team provides a point of contact for all childcare practitioners/managers seeking information and advice. We provide a wide range of support including:
- Advice and guidance on meeting the Ofsted standards for registration and inspection.
- General information and advice on all aspects of childcare provision, including visits to the setting if required.
- Guidance on current legislation, guidelines and good practice, including developing quality provision and delivering The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
- Supporting ‘Inclusion’ for children with additional needs.
- Attendance at local childcare provider network meetings.
- Business support and advice.
- Information and guidance on the administration of the nursery education grant.
- Advice on safe recruitment practice and training opportunities for the childcare workforce.
- An ongoing professional development programme for all childcare workers and early education practitioners, which reflects current training requirements.
We also produce a termly newsletter - Roundabout - which is distributed to childcare providers, parents and partners. The newsletter covers current topics, issues, local events/news and much more.
The Childcare Team works alongside the Families Information Service and The Early Years Foundation Stage Consultants to provide a comprehensive programme of support for settings.
