Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership (CYPSP)
A local authority partnership is a process where a local authority works together with partner organisations to improve the local community. This process involves looking at the needs of the local community, and bringing together or making better use of the resources available.
The Children Act 2004 required all local authorities to form a partnership in respect of children and young people and develop a Children's Trust arrangement by 1 April 2008. The Children's Trust will formalise the relationships within the children's partnership and allow joint funding and commissioning of services.
The Warrington Children and Young people's Strategic Partnership brought together representatives of all services for children and young people to make joint decisions about how services were designed and delivered. Its purpose was to ensure that the vision described in the Children and Young People's Plan for Warrington was achieved.
From 1 April 2008 the Children & Young People's Strategic Partnership became the Children & Young People's Trust for Warrington. The chair of the trust is still the lead council member for children from Warrington Borough Council.
