Fostering

Warrington Borough Council are always pleased to hear from people who are thinking about fostering a child or children and understand that deciding to foster is not a decision that you will have made quickly or easily.

On average, about 230 Warrington children and young people are not able to live at home with their parents, or may need a break from their family.  We know from experience that the best place for most of these children and young people is to be cared for within a family.

Warrington particularly needs:

  • Foster carers who can look after sibling groups
  • Foster carers from ethnic minority backgrounds
  • Foster carers who can look after a disabled child
  • Foster carers who can look after teenagers
  • Foster carers who can offer short breaks to disabled children

If you need any further information, please do no hesitate to contact the Fostering and Adoption Team.

In Warrington we always try to match children with foster carers who share a similar background, such as, ethnicity, culture, race, language and religion
