Educational Psychology Service
Warrington’s Educational Psychology Service visits schools, other settings, and Children’s Centres to help them to meet the emotional, psychological and educational needs of children and young people aged from 0 to 19 years.
The team of educational psychologists provides consultation, support and advice to children and young people, their parents and carers and those who teach or care for them on a regular basis. We particularly encourage opportunities for inclusion for children and young people with special educational needs.
We talk to children and young people and the adults who know them to see if we can offer support and advice on how they might be helped to learn and progress.
Sometimes children or young people are referred to us. We may carry out assessments on behalf of the council to help us to understand how a child learns and to highlight how the child might be helped. We provide support for children and young people who have learning difficulties, behavioural difficulties or emotional problems.
