Youth Advice Shop

The Youth Advice Shop is a confidential sexual health service for young people aged 13 – 19. 

The service offers advice and information as well as access to free contraception, condoms and pregnancy testing.  Chlamydia and gonorrhoea testing and treatment are also available.

Sessions are staffed by Youth Workers and Family Planning nurses.  A Family Planning doctor is also available during Monday and Saturday sessions.  A GUM health advisor is available on Thursdays.

The Youth Advice Shop also offers a smoking cessation session on Tuesdays.

The service is based at Connexions @ Gateway and is open:

• Monday – 3:30pm to 6:15pm
• Tuesday , Wednesday and Friday – 3:30pm to 5:30pm
• Thursday – 3:30pm to 6:00pm
• Saturday – 12:45pm to 3:45pm 

However, the last appointment for contraception or treatment is 15 minutes before closing unless it is an emergency.

We now also offer Youth Advice Shop at Orford Youth Base, this is open:

• Wednesday 3:30pm - 6:30pm

Please note that from 3:30pm - 4:30pm there is only a youth worker on site, therefore only testing can be done in this hour, from 4:30pm - 6:30pm a nurse will be available
