Youth Offending Team

At Warrington Borough Council, we're working hard to improve the lives of young people who are at risk of offending, together with those already within the Criminal Justice System.
Our Youth Offending Team works closely with young offenders, their parents and carers, victims, the court, and a wide range of other organisations, groups and agencies to ensure that everyone has equal access to the services they need.
Put simply, it's about providing the kind of essential services that are required to quickly and effectively deal with young people aged between 10 and 18 who get into trouble
Within the Youth Offending Team, you'll find social workers, probation officers, police officers, education and health workers, housing workers and drug misuse professionals, and we also have close links with training and employment providers, leisure and accommodation services, and many other voluntary agencies. Together, the team is committed to:
- Reducing and preventing offending by children and young people
- Reduce and prevent anti-social behaviour by young people
- Protecting the public from harm
- Helping young offenders become law-abiding adults
- Delivering proven interventions that reduce the need for custody and enhance young peoples' opportunities
- Working within national guidelines, and providing an equal service irrespective of ethnic origin, gender, religion, disability and sexuality
