Local land charges - Information, fees and contacts

What is the purpose of the service?

The purpose of the local land charges service is to provide a land and property based information service to prospective purchasers and developers in the borough. An essential element of the service is to ensure that the Local Land Charges register and the Common Land and Village Green registers are both accurate and up to date.

The service aims to provide the fullest possible information to prospective purchasers/developers/owners in respect of land and property to ensure that informed decisions can be made and that any matters which might affect their future enjoyment of the land or property are revealed.

Smoke Control Orders
Tree Preservation Orders
Planning Histories
Road Proposals
Listed Buildings
Housing Grants

Warrington Borough Council has computerised this service. This has enabled us to cut down response times and increase the accuracy of our information, as it is retrieved from the council's GIS (Geographical Information System). With this we provide an up to date Ordnance Survey plan for every search submitted, showing the extent of the search. This should satisfy the requirements from developers, building societies and other money lenders. Warrington Borough Council accepts local searches via the internet, since going live with NLIS on 26/06/01.

Online forms can be found by using the NLIS website. To access this service you need to register with one of the NLIS licensed channels. More information is available through their website:www.nlis.org.uk

What search fees will I have to pay?

Fees from 1 April 2012:

Basic Search £114.00 (LLC1 + CON29)
LLC1 £20.00
Additional Parcels (LLC1) £1.00 each
CON29 Required £94.00
Individual_CON29R_Questions_£_Variable.xls
CON29 Optional £15.00 each
Additional Parcels (CON29) £10.00 each
Admin charges £10.00 (usually duplicate search requests)
Cancellation fee £ Variable (depending on the work already carried out)
