Aged between 16 and 64? Then an apprenticeship could be for you….
What is an apprenticeship?
As employees, apprentices earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. Off the job, usually on a day-release basis, apprentices receive training to work towards nationally recognised qualifications. Anyone living in England aged between 16 to 64 and not in full time education or possessing a degree can apply.
Apprenticeships can take between one and four years to complete depending on the level of apprenticeship, the apprentice’s ability and the industry sector. Average salaries are between £170 and £210 per week. However, many apprentices earn significantly more. Apprenticeships are available in a variety of professions from accounting to youth work.
Key benefits:
- work for an employer earning a salary
- receive training relevant to your chosen career
- gain qualifications recognised by employers
- learn job specific skills and gain valuable experience
- demonstrate your ability to an employer
