Welcome to Warrington Families Information Service (FIS)
The Families Information Service provides information, advice and guidance on childcare and a range of services for children aged 0-20 and their families.
We recognise that childcare is an extremely important part of a working parent’s life. We know that you need reliable, affordable, local childcare and knowledge of where to find it.
If after reading these pages you have any questions or you need more information, please contact us.
Childcare is divided into two categories:
This includes playgroups, day nurseries, childminders, home childcarers, out of school clubs and crèches. Ofsted are responsible for the registration and inspection of these facilities for children under eight years old.
This includes carer and toddler groups, nannies and babysitters. There are no regulations or inspection of these. This can be because their sessions are not long enough to require registration or because parents stay with their child.
