The childcare team provides a point of contact for all childcare practitioners/managers seeking information and advice. We provide a wide range of support including:
- Advice and guidance on meeting the Ofsted standards for registration and inspection
- General information and advice on all aspects of childcare provision, including visits to the setting if required
- Guidance on current legislation, guidelines and good practice, including developing quality provision and delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
- Supporting inclusion for children and young people with additional needs
- Attendance at local childcare provider network meetings
- Business support and advice
- Information and guidance on the administration of the free early years entitlement
- Advice on safe recruitment practice and training opportunities for the childcare workforce
- An ongoing professional development programme for all childcare workers and early education practitioners, which reflects current training requirements.
We also produce a termly newsletter - Roundabout - which is distributed to childcare providers, parents and partners. The newsletter covers current topics, issues, local events, news and much more.
The childcare team works alongside the families information service and the early years foundation stage consultants to provide a comprehensive programme of support for settings.
