Governor services

“The clerking service received from Warrington is exemplary.  Advice and support is readily available which helps the smooth and efficient running of the governing body.”

Chair of Governors at St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School

The governor Clerking & Support Service provides professional, knowledgeable and experienced support to school governing bodies to enable them to work confidently and efficiently.

We have a team of highly qualified people who are committed to delivering a quality support and development service to schools incorporating the key values of autonomy, self evaluation and challenge.

The service also provides administration support to advisers based within School Improvement and Inclusion.

The designated clerks provide a clerking service for meetings and have specialist knowledge that enables them to support the work of the governing body.  The clerk also works in partnership with the governor support officer and other colleagues within the directorate to advise on all aspects of school governance, duties and powers within the broad legislative framework.

Governor Services also provides a general helpline and act as a first point of contact for all governors.  We will also signpost or source information and guidance relating to specific issues relating to individual schools, this will include the provision of advice in between meetings.

A range of additional services are available to schools on a pay as you go basis.  The menu of additional services and prices for 2012-2013 are available from the team.
