Recommendations of the independent remuneration panel
Before making any change to its scheme of members' allowances, the council must seek (and take into account) the recommendations of an independent panel.
In 2006-07, the council adopted, in full, the scheme recommended to it by the panel.
In subsequent years, the panel has made further recommendations to the council about revisions to the scheme, which have been either rejected, or accepted in part or in full.
A notice outlining the panel’s recommendations and the response of the council must be published in each year and is available below.
Approved scheme of allowances
Warrington Borough Council is required to publicise its scheme of allowances payable to elected members for the forthcoming year. The current and earlier allowance schemes are published below.
Payment of allowances
The council is required to publish, as soon as practicable after the end of the year concerned, a list showing the amounts of expenses paid to councillors.
All payments made to members listed above are in accordance with the relevant schemes set out below.
If you have any questions about the allowances that are paid please contact Bryan Magan, head of democratic and member services on 442120 or email bmagan@warrington.gov.uk
