The Boundary Commission for England has published its initial proposals for the forthcoming parliamentary boundary changes.
The number of MPs in Cheshire is reducing from 15 to 13, with each MP required to look after approximately 76,000 electors. Therefore the parliamentary boundaries within Cheshire will have to change to reflect this.
The initial proposals were published on 13 September for a period of public consultation and any comments or suggestions should be forwarded to the Boundary Commission (details below).
The consultation period runs from 13 September to 5 December 2011.
All representations received will be published in Spring 2012. Following this, revised proposals will be published towards the end of 2012 when there will be a further period of consultation. Final recommendations will be published in 2013.
It is imperative that your views are made known to the Boundary Commission in order that their final recommendations properly reflect the views of the residents in this area.
The initial proposals document, large map of the North West region, and smaller maps of each proposed constituency are available to view at Warrington Library, Westbrook Library and Birchwood Library (please note these cannot be removed from the offices).
