Dignity in care national open day 27 November 2008

In our application for beacon status, we recognised that, alongside other authorities, we are on a journey to improve service user experience of care, addressing all aspects of dignity and respect. Most authorities have areas of excellence and we saw our application as an opportunity to showcase some of Warrington's innovative practice and our cross-cutting approach to delivering services that respect dignity.

Importantly, we wanted to use the beacon award to raise awareness about dignity in care in all our local services and to raise the profile of dignity nationally, facilitating work with other authorities and organisations, sharing lessons and good practice.

We viewed our national open day as a real opportunity for that to happen and would like to thank everyone who attended and contributed to the day which was a great success.

You can download an evaluation of the feedback we received.

Dignity in Care marketplace

At the centre of the open day was our marketplace.  This contained stands that looked at different areas of work and delegates were able to talk to our staff, professional partners and service users. Please visit the links below to find out more.
