Carers emergency card

Wired carers service in partnership with Carecall, the community alarm service, have introduced the carers emergency card.

If you regularly provide care for someone, you may worry about what would happen in an emergency if you were unable to provide support: for instance if you were ill or involved in an accident. The carers emergency card provides you with the opportunity to record with the carers service and Carecall what action would need to be taken for the person you care for should an emergency occur.

If a situation were to occur, leaving you unable to provide care, a telephone call could be made to Carecall. This will then set in motion the arrangements you have made, e.g. contacting a relative to say help is needed. Carecall operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If a pre-arranged plan was to break down and support was required, adult social services would be alerted. The carers emergency card is free of charge and aims to provide you with peace of mind.
