What’s the directory about?

This directory has been produced for adults (over 19s) looking for learning courses and for those who help learners by providing information, advice and guidance.

The directory is a list of providers and the areas of learning they deliver. It does not attempt to provide detail at course level. This information can be found by contacting the individual organisation; each individual organisation lists websites, telephone numbers, contacts, directions and much more.

Who’s it for?

Warrington offers learning for all. Organisations listed in this directory provide courses for learners improving their skills for work, learners developing personal interests, learners interested in learning with their family and for learners interested in volunteering.

How to use the directory?

The search box facility allows the user to search the directory in different ways, such as course name, location or type of learning.

Progressing through learning

 Seeking advice on what to do next is essential in planning your next course or your next job.

Many learners with few or no qualifications start with a leisure course in a community centre and progress into work or to college and university. Equally learners looking for a career change can seek advice on how to map their learning journey to more fulfilled or better paid work.

The speed with which this can be achieved is different for every individual depending on their personal circumstance such as work and family commitments.

To plan learner progression expert help is invaluable and this is available via organisations listed in this directory under Information, Advice & Guidance.

 What about developing skills for life?

 Many of us could improve our maths or English skills. Both accredited and non-accredited courses can offer help in this area.

If you are interested in a developing these skills, use the course guide to identify which organisations offer these programmes.

These courses are great fun and offer a real qualification to add to your CV or enable you to support your child with their learning.

How much do courses cost?

 Many courses are free. Some courses carry a charge but often they are partly subsidised to ensure learning is affordable.

The directory does not give accurate information on individual course costs. Contact individual organisations for all fee details.
