How can I get involved in the Games locally?

Olympic 2012 logoIf you didn't manage to get tickets to see the Games and you're not lucky enough to have been nominated as one of the 8000 Torchbearers, there are plenty of other ways you can get involved in London 2012 in your local area...

NEW! Schools and community groups decorate a banner

The council has a batch of blank banners available for groups to decorate on the theme of 'glory.'  These will then be displayed along the Torch Relay Route on 31 May, find out more in the document below!  First come, first served!

Be a volunteer steward on the day the Torch visits the borough

If you'd like to volunteer to help out on the day the torch visits Warrington please get in touch with Tom Haworth, Interim Sports Engagement Team Manager for the council on thaworth@warrington.gov.uk or via 01925 444110 today.

Individuals and business teams welcome, training will be given.

Local businesses, we need your help

The council and other organising partners are keen to work with local businesses in order to maximise the opportunities the Relay presents - while it is in the borough the eye of the world will be on us!  We want to create a festival atmosphere and make the day as memorable as possible for everyone who turns out to watch, it really is a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Some briefing sessions have recently been held and the response from businesses has been great!
