Hosting the tournament would bring significant economic benefits to Warrington. An independent report has shown that a successful bid could be worth as much as £2.3m to the town and our local businesses, with up to 20,000 extra visitors.
The backing of local businesses could really strengthen the town’s bid as the deadline for a final decision on whether or not Warrington will be a host town approaches.
Warrington Borough Council, in partnership with Warrington Wolves and Marketing Cheshire, is now calling on local businesses to support the town’s bid. Two successful business breakfasts have been held at The Halliwell Jones Stadium where a number of local businesses have already pledged their support to the campaign.
To spread the word about the bid, a FREE business toolkit has also been developed which Warrington and Cheshire businesses are free to use. This includes an email footer logo and strapline, website banner and access to the exclusive ‘Back the bid’ DVD developed by Warrington as part of its bid. In return, we will profile your business in press releases around Warrington’s bid, and display your logo on our Roll of Honour. You will also receive FREE hospitality for a future match!
You can request a copy of the toolkit on CD by contacting Dave Maskery at dmaskery@warrington.gov.uk
