Library charges

You can avoid paying overdue charges on books by renewing books online.

We will remind you in advance of when your books are due back if you have signed up to the email service.

 

Loan charges

Talking books

 £1.40 (70p concessions) for three weeks
Children’s talking books are FREE for three weeks
There is no charge for persons who have difficulty reading print or handling books 

Compact discs

£1.40 for 1 week (70p concessions)

DVDs

£2.60 for 1 week (£1.30 concessions) 

Open learning and language courses

 Free for three weeks 

Photocopies

 10p per sheet (A4)
20p per sheet (A3)

Archives and local studies have separate charges 

Reservations

 There is no charge to reserve books or multimedia items that are held as part of Warrington libraries stock. If the item reserved has to be obtained from a library outside Warrington, the charge is £5.

Computer charges

 CDs: £1 each
Memory sticks: £6 each
Printing: 15p per page (black and white), 50p per page (colour)
Headphones: £1

Fax

50p per sheet received 
UK: £1 for first sheet, 60p for subsequent sheets
Europe: £2 for first sheet, 60p for subsequent sheets
Rest of world: £3 for first sheet, 60p for subsequent sheets

 

Charges on items that are overdue

Books

  • There is a daily charge of 13p per book, up to a maximum of £3 per overdue book for adults
  • For children aged 12 and under there are no charges on overdue books. 
  • Books for young people aged 13-17 years old there is a daily charge of 6p per overdue book (maximum of £1 per book)
  • Overdue charges of 6p per item per day apply to concessionary/ leisure cardholders and users aged 60 years and above.    

Please note children’s books borrowed on adult tickets will be charged at the adult rate. 

Following the 2010 Library Review, overdue and reservation collection notices are no longer posted to users. To receive email notices please ask library staff or sign up online.

Renewing your items

 Books and talking books can be renewed up to six times before they must be returned to a library. DVDs, CDs and language courses can be renewed up to three times.

Items in demand will not be renewed and users will be asked to return them as soon as possible.

Lost tickets

 There is no charge for lost tickets; however, if three or more tickets are lost in a two month period then a 50p charge will be made - no concessions.

Concessions

 Leisure cardholders and users aged 60 and over are entitled to the concessionary rates.

 

Save money with a leisure card

You may be able to save up to half your library costs and overdue charges.  Simply bring in proof to your local Warrington library if you receive any of the following benefits:

 

Income support Job seekers allowance
Council tax benefit Housing benefit
Working tax credit Incapacity benefit
Disability living allowance Severe disablement allowance
Invalid care allowance Carer's allowance

Residents and users aged 60 years and over are entitled to the concessionary rates.

Students on a full time course over 12 months long are entitled to the discounts on production of a Student Union card.
